What species are covered by "peep sp."?

Hi, I'm just wondering what is considered a "peep" by eBird or in general.
Thanks.

Charles Swift — April 23, 01:22AM

Least, Semipalmated, Western, Baird's, and White-rumped Sandpipers are generally considered to be "peeps".

In the world at large there are additional species that fall under "peep". They are all small sandpipers like those Charles mentioned.

Most field guides list whether they are peeps or not. Peeps can be very difficult to identify.
