eBird Mobile Error: can't access server
I receive an error message when I attempt to select a location in the mobile app. Exact message: "Error: eBird can't access the server. Please check you internet connection and try again." This problem has gone on for over a month now, and I haven't been able to submit any checklists using the app.
I thought I could skirt around his problem by entering data in offline mode, but once I'm home (on Wi-Fi) or in a place with reliable coverage, I still cannot select the location. No matter where I go I cannot access the server. I have confirmed my internet is working properly and location data is enabled in Settings for this app.
I would like to uninstall and reinstall the app, but I am worried I'll lose my "Trips" data. Any suggestions?

I am having same problem.
I am having the same problem Dixie is. I have not been able to submit lists via eBird mobile app for the last couple weeks. The problem occurs after I attempt to enter or pick a location. I then get screen which reads “ERROR. eBird can’t access the server. Please check your Internet connection and try again.” I am not able to pick hotspots nor confirm a location despite a strong cell signal, nor even once I have good Wi-Fi. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I recently got an iPhone Xs? I was hoping that the latest update would fix some bug, but no.

As this seems to be a common problem, it should be reported to eBird. Click the "contact" tab at upper right.

Delete and re-install the app, it worked for us!
