Checklist comment edits saving

Even when the change "saves" and is shown when I backspace, I occasionally find a comment has reverted back to before a edit, e.g. "Not included" is edited to "excluded", the change is shown after saving, then two days later it is "not included"; but usually I only notice it when a few paragraphs go missing.

We have similar but not identical experiences. Some is an IT failure to save. some is (we believe) eBird editors with language syntax and spelling preferences. Probably not a big deal, but when WE enter or change OUR data it ought to STAY the way WE want.

Good birding,

Don’t editors have to email and ask the user to edit? Can they also reject records themselves, or change whether a user can report wrong IDs?

Your reply indicates the way the review system is EXPECTED to operate, but there are so many cracks to the system that really one never knows what will happen. Many entries that are hidden pending review just stay hidden with no review EVER occurring. So by default the record is rejected.

If you read other entries in this forum related to review, you will find all sorts of quirks and frustrations including MANY concerns that entries are never posted but also never given any active review. We have fussed since the inception of the review process, but mostly to no solution. Many, most?, reviewers are very proficient, but there seem to be a lot of others who do not fully comprehend or satisfy the expectations of them in the review process.

For example we have one entry entered January of 2018, still not appearing online, and with as of today (2 SEP 2018) STILL no communication about review for that entry. Even though we anticipated review for a very good observation out of season and nearly out of range and so provided (what we thought to be) pretty good details.

Of course you might also realize that our satisfaction with the review process is rather jaded and probably so does not encourage immediate response from any reviewer who has communicated with us previously.

good birding,
