Clements 2017 and eBird missing subspecies

While birding in New Zealand we saw two subspecies of Cape Petrel. Clements shows two subspecies differentiated by the amount of white across the upper wing and up through the shoulder portion.
Daption capense capense--
Breeds circumpolar subantarctic islands; ranges southern oceans (found around Stewart Island and nearby)

Daption capense australe--
Breeds New Zealand subantarctic islands; ranges southern oceans (found throughout New Zealand.

I am unable to enter these as subspecies on a New Zealand checklist even if I try entering as "Add a Species" which generally then shows the subspecies.

Arguably the best New Zealand birder, Sav Saville, confirms that both subspecies are present at the southern end of New Zealand.

Would appreciate help on this. God Bless.
Any ideas.

Just an idea...there's a few checkable boxes, for showing rarities and subespecies and other stuff. Possibly it isn't Checked? That would only be the case if there weren't any other subespecies options.
Have a blessed birding.
