Checklist issue

Reviewers have tagged some eBird checklists as having a checklist issue; these checklists show this message at the top:

Checklist issue. This checklist has been flagged because of an issue with the effort, date, or location. This checklist and its observations do not appear in public eBird outputs. More information.

For eBird checklists to be scientifically useful, they need to meet minimum requirements on having accurate location information, a precise date, and use of the correct protocol: each of these are specific reasons why some checklists are not shown publicly. A variety of other less common issues might be tagged as a "checklist issue", including incorrect time or duration, issues with the "are you reporting all species you observed?" question, or widespread issues with the counts or identifications of birds across the entire list. To better understand issues with a particular list please get in touch with your reviewer or with eBird Central at ebird@cornell.edu.
