To remove a species, you have three options:
- Open the comments box, hit backspace. This will delete your count and the species will no longer appear on your list once you close the comments box.
- If you use eBird Mobile quick entry a lot, you can subtract birds just as easily as you can add them. If you have a count of 5 Northern Cardinals, you can drop the count to 3 Northern Cardinals by typing "-2 noca". Once the count reaches zero it removes the species from the best.
- The best way to remove a species is through the the All, Likely, or Checked screens that show the bird list that you are entering. For iOS: Put your finger on the right side of the species name and swipe left to make the "Clear Data" option appear as in the example shown here. For Android: Press and hold on the species name, and a small window will appear that says "Clear Data"—tapping that will let you remove the species count.
