Key to Bird Names in Ecuador for eBird

Birders unfamiliar with recent taxonomical revisions can end up confused and frustrated at all the differences between the English names used in various references. This list provides the names used in the two most commonly use field guides to Ecuador's birds along with the different names used in the current version of eBird. If you are trying to enter a species into eBird in Ecuador and your species does not appear as an option, chances are this is due to a name change or split and you should be able to find it on this list. In the case of splits, you will have to know where you saw the bird and refer to the geographical notes in order to determine which eBird species (or group) you saw.
