Can I submit a checklist for my personal records only?
I have been on several bird walks where the leader doesn't always share out their checklist. I want to keep my personal records accurate but don't want to duplicate data entry skewing ypur scientific analysis nor do I want to make work for someone else who may be struggling with the computer world. Is there a work around? I submit everything else I see on my own and have been trying to improve the quality of my input but from time to time have this dilemma.

Just discovered the "hide checklist" option which should work fine.

I don't think you need to hide your checklist.
Your checklist accurately reflecting your birding experience is probably not going to skew the data appreciably.

Another way to consider this: imagine you were 20 feet behind the group of birders instead of with them. Your experience and sightings would be much the same and you probably wouldn't think twice about submitting your own checklist.

If you are out birding and there is no option for checklist sharing, please do submit your checklist as you normally would. In a perfect world we’d be able to share checklists all the time, but in reality it doesn’t happen that way for many reasons. Make sure to put the right number of participants on the walk though, or approximate that number.
