sighting not appearing on range map.

SPSA I reported is not showing on range map. I didn't get an email inquiring about it.

Did you check the next day? I believe some data is updated every night, so it might not show up until the next day?

Yes, I checked. It isn't there. I left a detailed description of the sighting because it was listed as a rarity. I normally get an inquiry if I report a rarity, but this time I did not. I left an accurate description, I am very familiar with the sp. but for some reason this one isn't showing up and I still haven't been contacted about it. Any ideas?

Sometimes it takes the ebird reviewers a little while to view and confirm the sighting. There are an awful lot of checklists coming in! (<good thing) It should be show up in a few days.

That arises another question I have had in the past:
What determines whether or not a sighting in confirmed?

Several of my sightings that are listed as confirmed are no more confirmed than those that are not listed as confirmed as far as I can tell. There must be a criteria for this?
