How combine data for 2 sets of non-Hotspot entries?
A friend birded at a location and entered data, but did not suggest the location as a birding hotspot. I went to the same location and birded. How do I enter my data so that it is recorded as being for the same location? If I enter it with the same location name he used, will it be combined even though I won't have chosen the exact same location he did on the map? (It will be close, but not exact. And, yes, I will suggest it as a birding hotspot.)

If you want to share a personal location, you need to share a checklist for that personal location.
Your friend "shares" a checklist from that location with you. Since you weren't there at the same time, you would ACCEPT that checklist and then DELETE that shared checklist.
The checklist is gone, but the personal location will stay in your list of locations. You would then need to MERGE your old personal location with the new shared personal location to put all the checklists together in one place.
Alternately, IF it's really a HOT spot that other people will likely bird at and would want a location for, it would be simpler for one of you to suggest it as a Hot Spot. Once that location is accepted as a hot spot, anyone else (including you) could merge their personal location with the hot spot.
If it's NOT really a HOT Spot, where others are likely to bird, you may not want to suggest it as a hot spot.
