why does tracking on my iPhone often stop well before my walk is over?

When doing a mobile app report on my iPhone, tracking starts normally at the beginning of my walk. But at some point well before my walk is complete, it stops tracking and stops recording the time elapsed, though I have not selected "stop tracking" or told it to cease. What am I doing wrong, or how do I arrange it so I get a complete track of my walk? Very frustrating! Thanks. (And btw, I cannot find an answer to this question on the ebird web site or by Googling the question.)

Hi Sharon,
I have had that happen on occasion too and also couldn’t figure out what causes it. I think it’s just a glitch in the system that hopefully they will correct. It hasn’t happened to me since the last update came out, so perhaps they have corrected it.
The only advice I can offer is, for me, it almost always happens when I have two checklists open at the same time. (I’ll have a checklist active and remember I forgot to add something to a previous checklist that hasn’t been submitted yet and open it.) If that’s when it happens to you, perhaps avoiding that will help.
