A couple questions/suggestions.
I've used the ebird needs alerts and was curious if there is a way to filter based on a larger geographic area besides state, but smaller than country. Example would be similar to the way field guides are set up...Eastern US, Western US, Birds of the Southwest & Texas, etc. Using a needs alert for the entire US isn't all that helpful as I live in Ohio; as we all know birds are not confined to one state. If I was traveling to different states in the same area I'd easily be able to see birds I need for the area and not have to subscribe to each states needs alerts.
The 2nd question/suggestion is with the Needs alerts themselves. Is there a way to further filter species on needs alerts that have been seen elsewhere. Example: I visited Texas earlier this year and observed a Yellow Warbler, however I have not seen one in my home state of Ohio, so I get alerted when that bird is reported. I've already seen it, just not in Ohio. A filter to allow users to eliminate those birds would be helpful.
