ebird app log in.

I have an Android phone. When I try to log into the app a dialogue box informs me that "there are spaces at the beginning or end of your username or password that may not be intentional" and will not let me log in.
I can log into the ebird website without any issues. I have verified that my username and password are correct.
The app does me no good if I can't log in. Can anyone give me info or advice?

Hey Rue, no I don't have any symbols. I heard from a guy from ebird. He told me that the app has built in spaces in the front of the username. He said you won't notice that they are there but to put the cursor in front of my username and hit backspace. It worked and allowed me in. Thanks for your response!
