is there a way to remove media
I accidentally uploaded an unedited audio file. The volume is low and there's a long gap in beginning before the bird starts singing. Is there a way to remove that file and put in place the edited file that's trimmed at the beginning and has amplified volume?

Go to My eBird page, click 'Manage My Checklists', click 'View or edit' for the checklist containing the audio file, click 'Edit Species List'.
You should then be able to delete the old audio file and upload a new audio file.

When I'm in Edit Species List the only Delete I can find is to delete the species entirely. Can't see a way to delete a media file. If I delete the species it can't be entered on the list again.

That is odd! Are you seeing a Delete button or a Remove Species button?
I checked on one of my lists and once I clicked on 'Edit Species List' I found a Delete button next to one my photos. If I can delete a photo I don't see why you can't delete an audio file?
With regard to re-entering a deleted species, I was able to that. After clicking on 'View or edit" I deleted a gull from my list using the Remove Species button then clicked on 'Edit Species List' and re-entered the gull.

Ah! Got it. For some reason I never once noticed the delete button by media. I feel a bit foolish but grateful to know the option is there. Thank you for your help!
