How to report a bird that is not on the list

Hello,

I saw some birds that do not appear on the checklist. I tried to use the "add a species" function, but these particular birds did not appear on the list. The ones I want to report are:

Pink-Sided Junco (Hesperus, CO)
Blue Grouse (Kolob Terrace, Zion National Park, UT)

Thank you and best regards,

Anne,
Neither of these is any longer a species. The Pink-sided Junco is now a subspecies/race of the Dark-eyed Junco, and the Blue Grouse has been split into Dusky and Sooty Grouse. There is a function in eBird that allows you to expand the list to include subspecies or races in the junco case. For the grouse, only the appropriate species should appear on the checklist based on range--in this case, Dusky. You might want to consider a newer field guide like Sibley, though taxonomy changes so fast that even he can't always keep up. Hope this helps.
