Just wanted to see if I could get some help identifying a bird?
I live in Enterprise, AL and a bird came to my backyard yesterday (5/12/13) that I've never seen. It only stayed about 15 seconds, so I couldn't get a photo. I studied the colors I could see through my binoculars. It was sitting on a fence next to a female Eastern bluebird as well. I could only see it's breast and wing. The breast was spotted or speckled blue on white. There was no orange color on the breast at all or else I would have assumed it was a juvenile bluebird. What really threw me were the two bars on the wing. They were an orange or rust color, not white like I would have expected. The size of the bird was also larger than the male and female bluebird, but it still looked like a juvenile, having a more narrow body. It was also similar to a mockingbird, but colored nothing like a mockingbird. I've looked at all of the google images of various blue birds including molting, fledlings, and juveniles, but can't make an identification. Just wondered if a more experienced birder might be able to help. Thanks! kristen

This eBird Help Center is really designed to help you with problems related to eBird, and there are better venues for questions about bird identification. I suggest you try to online group called BirdChat. That is a great group for basic ID questions.

I would try http://www.whatbird.com/forum/ for ID related purposes.

I would second the whatbird forums. They have been invaluable to me many times in IDing "mystery" birds.
