How do I add photos and details to my eBird Mobile checklists?
While the eBird Mobile app is vastly improving the accuracy of data by allowing us to collect it while we are actually birding, trying to enter descriptive notes to support an observation on a mobile phone keyboard can be a challenge. As a result, many birds entered via eBird Mobile have descriptive notes that say for example, "Photos", or "Will add description later". While this is an acceptable practice for getting the data in while you're actually birding, it's important to go back to eBird and open your submitted checklist by going to "My eBird" and then to "Manage my checklists". Once there you can edit the species list and add your descriptive details of the bird you saw. You can also embed photos or other rich media to support your observation. It is critical to support your flagged birds with strong details. For more on that process see this article.
